Locks for Gold has been an event held through the Centers for Cancer and Blood Disorders through Phoenix Children’s Hospital since 2017.
To date, we have collected over 3,000 inches of hair for replacement systems for children with hair loss through two different organizations – Crowns of Courage and Children with Hair Loss. Thank you to all who have donated to date!
With COVID-19 restrictions, this year we have elected to hold our event outdoors and are respecting social distancing recommendations at a local park in Phoenix. In order to provide accommodations and safety to our participants, we are requesting that those that would like to donate hair sign up for advance for a slot.
We are holding 20 minute slots throughout the day – where hair will be prepped appropriately for donation, and hair will be evened out but not styled (as this takes a fair amount of time and can cause a build up of patrons). Please make your own accommodations following your donation to get your hair styled appropriately.
Minimum donation length is 8 inches from the longest layer.
Dyed/color treated hair is acceptable.
Additionally, we are holding a fundraiser to help raise money for pediatric cancer research as only 4% of all government funding towards cancer is dedicated to the pediatric population.
Please visit for more information and to donate if able:

Even if people donate just $1 per inch of hair, we can help raise funds to assist with cancer research.
