Chestnut Hill Residents Selected For Laver Cup 2021 Ballkid Squad

NEWTON, MA — Two Chestnut Hill residents have been selected to be part of the Boston Ballkid Squad for the 2021 Laver Cup, set to be held at TD Garden from Friday, September 24 through Sunday, September 26. Deven Devaiah, 13, and Jolie Zink, 14, are two of 30 Massachusetts kids between the ages of 12 and 15 that will be part of this year's Ballkid Squad following an intensive recruitment process. On Friday, August 13, the two young athletes participated in training sessions at Longfellow Tennis Club in Natick, which involved a series of exercises that focus on agility, endurance, coordination, ball skills, balance, speed, and teamwork. Deviah is currently ranked 35th in New England for youth tennis and is a member of Sportmens Tennis Center. Zink is ranked 462nd nationally in G14 tennis and is a member of Wightman Tennis Center.
