Description
We invite you to help fight hunger here in Mercer County by joining us for our Empty Bowls Mercer County event. We are excited to be finally hosting our Empty Bowls event on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Hope Center for Arts and Technology (HopeCAT) from 3:00-7:00pm. After delays and postponements, we are happy to be planning this important fundraiser for the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County. For anyone who has previously purchased tickets for our original date of April 9, 2020, those tickets will be honored. The premise of Empty Bowls Mercer County is simple: Potters and students create handcrafted bowls. Event attendees receive a simple meal of soup and bread, generously donated by local restaurants and bakeries, and are given a bowl to take home. The bowl is their reminder that every day, bowls remain empty and hunger persists. All money collected will be used to feed the hungry right here in Mercer County. The CFWMC is very excited that HopeCAT has agreed to host us again! Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at eventbrite.com, directly from the CFWMC or at the door. Tickets for children 8 and under will be available for $10 at the door only, and will include a bowl. In addition to a delicious meal of soup and bread, enjoy live music, a basket raffle and silent auction, 50/50 raffle and live pottery demonstrations! The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County (CFWMC) is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization and member of Feeding America, the nation’s network of food banks. We are the primary source of supplemental food assistance in Mercer County. Through our 32 member agencies, we distribute food to 4,200 households across Mercer County. Our agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, abuse and homeless shelters, local churches, after school programs, low income day care centers, youth centers, and mental health treatment centers.
