Press release from the Town of Bedford: August 18, 2021 - 2:02pm The following is a MassDOT press release: BEDFORD/BILLERICA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing daytime lane closures on sections of Middlesex Turnpike, Suburban Park Drive, Manning Road, and the Subway Plaza in Billerica. The daytime lane closures and detours will occur between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, and Monday, August 23. These lane closures and detours are necessary to allow crews to conduct roadway paving operations safely and effectively. For these operations, detours will be in place:  Manning Road east of Middlesex Turnpike will be detoured to Lexington Road. Suburban Park Drive will be detoured to the secondary entrance. Middlesex Turnpike and the adjacent Subway Plaza will have access through alternating entrances. Those traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. Appropriate signage, law enforcement details and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.  The schedule for this work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice. This work is part of a $35 million transportation improvement project in Bedford and Billerica and is currently scheduled to be completed in 2023.
