Description
The KGB will be 'Rockin' at The Roxy' with the talented sisters from Grafted Culture, Sept. 11th at 7 PM. (Doors open at 6 PM) Gabriëlle and Michaëlle are the vocalists of Grafted Culture. The Dutch/American sisters were raised the first part of their lives in the Netherlands followed by several years in the beautiful jungles of Papua New Guinea before settling in the US where they began writing music that reflects their travels. The young ladies are quickly gaining recognition as their unique harmonies create a magical chemistry on stage and their gentle natures are enjoyed offstage. Grafted Culture is celebrating Tin Roof's success of more than 40,000 streams in two weeks and being picked up by radio stations all around the world! These ladies are gaining global recognition and are currently only playing at a few select public venues for the remainder of 2021! MORE ABOUT GRAFTED CULTURE: Gabriëlle and Michaëlle are Grafted Culture and their unique style is a result of years of experiencing the constant love and loss of life. Every piece of the globe that they have rested on has captured a corner of their hearts. "There are days when you wish you were back on top of a mountain in the jungle, away from the world, just listening to the sounds of the rainforest, and then sometimes remembering the days when you would sit without life's luxuries on that same mountain top, wishing you had electricity." Now, here they are, taking all of that experience and knowledge that they have acquired around the globe and they are putting it into music. Michaëlle and Gabriëlle retreat to their music studio daily to write songs together that have a perfect blend of all the sights and sounds that have captured their hearts. They sing about their memories of the past and their hopes for the future as they struggle to accept the distance that spans between them and their loved ones. Their voices blend into a melody of emotion that refuses to be silenced. While launching their music career, the sisters have not wasted any time. Not only are the young ladies offering their time at the community center which they run personally, but they are also both full-time students. Gabriëlle is currently majoring in Psychology while Michaëlle is studying Health & Nutrition and together they are taking courses to become certified to use art in working with dementia patients in their local community. Not to mention their volunteer work for Lebonheur Children's Hospital where they love to encourage patients and staff with their talents. Gabriëlle and Michaëlle are not just performers, they are musicians with a passion and find ways to use their music on and off stage to inspire. "The great thing about music is that it breaks all cultural barriers. When everyone in the room starts to add their own personality to the music, there is an understanding of the message being communicated." -Gabriëlle "It's been a real blessing to be able to walk in somewhere and jam with anyone who can play an instrument or sing. When people put their unique style and sound into the mix, the result is an amazing and unforgettable experience. With one song, you are able to make people laugh or cry with the emotion you put into the song. It builds a bond to play with others, and when we are all playing with a passion for music, it does not matter how different we are from one another, it all comes together." -Michaëlle
