"Since 1891, Eastern Market has been a centerpiece of Detroit’s local food ecosystem. In recent years, it has even become a hub for urban agriculture and innovation in Detroit’s food ecosystem. Every type of person converges on this space day and night, from the public markets on Saturday to the wholesale markets in the early morning hours. As one of the largest and oldest public market districts in the country, it also boasts an eclectic mix of street art. From the “Super Graphics” in the 1970’s to the more recent Murals in the Market Program in collaboration with the Detroit Design Festival, there is no shortage of breathtaking beauty around every corner. As Eastern Market embraces the past and prepares for the future, come see the heart of Detroit just minutes outside of Downtown! Total Walking Distance = ~2 miles Duration= ~ 2 hours RECOMMENDED: Masks are recommended for participants that are not vaccinated against COVID-19. CHECK-IN: The tour begins promptly at the start time. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of the tour and check in with your guide who will be wearing a blue Detroit Experience Factory t-shirt. TICKETING: No need to print your ticket.
