Bloedel Reserve is seeking a full-time, experienced Gardener to join our horticulture team. Overview Bloedel Reserve is a mix of 150 acres of curated gardens, forests, structural features, and distinct landscapes. The Reserve is on the north end of Bainbridge Island. We share the wonders of nature with visitors from both around the world and close to home, through unguided walks and targeted programs to support a connection with nature, horticulture, and the environment. The Garden Generalist performs work relating to the planting, propagation, cultivation, and care of perennials, shrubs, and trees throughout the Reserve; works independently on assigned routine tasks and under general supervision on landscape renovation and installation projects; assists as needed with lawn care and irrigation; and works with and oversees volunteers and summer interns. Requirements The ideal candidate has experience maintaining private gardens and is knowledgeable of native and exotic tree, plant, and shrub identification and cultivation. Demonstrated ability to operate small engine machines and garden hand tools. Must hold current credentials as a Certified Professional Horticulturalist or the equivalent, or obtain such within one year.
