ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested three people in connection with an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning in Ashton Heights, according to a police release.
Officers responded around 1:08 a.m., for the report of a robbery in the 700 block of N. Randolph St. A preliminary investigation revealed that two male victims and a witness were sitting in a bus stop when they were approached by two women and one man. One of the women grabbed a cellphone from one of the victim's hands, pulled out a knife, and demand money for the return of the cellphone. The two women and man threatened to physically harm the two victims, who handed over money in return for the phone. The three suspects then fled the scene.
After searching the area, the responding officers located the suspects and took them into custody.
Belinda Pettus, 41, of Arlington was charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery. (ACPD) ACPD's Homicide/Robbery Unit arrested Belinda Pettus, 41, of Arlington; Tyja Reynolds, 28, of Alexandria; and Daniel King, 47, of Falls Church; The were each charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery. The three are being held without bondin the Arlington County Detention Facility.
