AUSTIN, TX — A man was shot by Austin police after officers responded to a call of a man on U.S. Highway 183, authorities said Thursday. Police say the shooting occurred after 4:35 p.m. after officers responded to a 911 call about a man on the highway in the 2100 block of S U.S. HWY 183 northbound and Riverside Drive in east Austin. APD is working an OIS in 2100 blk of S US 183 HWY NB. Call came in around 4:35 p.m. regarding a man on highway. Road closures on 183 NB and SB near the scene. Please avoid the area at this time.
