JERSEY CITY, NJ — An animal cruelty investigation is underway at a home in Jersey City after several goats and birds were rescued from inside. A call for a report of animal cruelty came in on Thursday afternoon for a home on Van Horne Street, according to Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione. When officers arrived, they found goats and "various birds" inside. "The City is working with the Liberty Humane Society on the safe surrender of the animals," Wallace-Scalcione said.
