ARVADA, CO — Another popular annual tradition returns to Arvada in 2021 — a special events permit for the Harvest Festival Parade has been approved, the city announced Thursday.
The parade, which is scheduled for Sept. 11, got the green light after a review by city officials — but other popular local traditions were denied.
"The Harvest Festival Committee's special events permit application also included other festival components, including a carnival and midway, which were not approved this year," the city of Arvada said in a news release.
"The City acknowledges that the absence of these festival components may be disappointing to some. In part, the community's response to the global pandemic, including the semi-permanent street closures in Olde Town, meant that the traditional locations of the carnival and midway were not possible this year."
