Description

By Steve Burger, WNIN Aug. 19, 2021 As part of shifting focus to reducing poverty and helping families improve their financial situations, the United Way is putting up to a quarter million dollars into a round of grants to help create or improve jobs. In a release, the agency says grant proposals must demonstrate how the program will help clients secure or improve employment, such as getting additional hours or increasing wages. In addition, proposals that include collaboration with other community partners will be given priority consideration. Nonprofit organizations serving Vanderburgh, Warrick, or Spencer County may begin submitting proposals immediately. The application window closes on September 17th. Grant awards will be announced in mid-November. WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
