The president of the Evansville City Council says he's tested positive for COVID-19.
Ron Beane posted on his campaign Facebook page that he is vaccinated "but must have contracted one of the variant strains."
Bean said he started having symptoms on Monday, was tested on Tuesday, and received the results Wednesday afternoon.
He encouraged anyone who has been around him the past week to get tested.
Beane also urged everyone to get vaccinated if you haven't already and to "please wear your mask."
The City Council is conducting budget hearings this week and the Courier and Press reports Beane participated remotely during Wednesday's hearing.
