Press release from the Santa Cruz Public Libraries: August 17, 2021 We're Over Overdues! If you haven't been to the library because you hate to pay overdue fines, welcome back! Overdue fines are over. Beginning September 1st, 2021, SCPL will no longer charge overdue fines. Libraries are about access. We want to eliminate barriers for all our patrons to access the information, education, and entertainment you need. In addition to eliminating overdue fines, existing overdue fines will be waived.
