Hotel room discounts to stay overnight, are available, if needed. ***Note the 40 hour course goes quickly: ideal for interpreters with experience or medical backgrounds/experience, or are great students. There is not a lot of time for questions due to the volume of content to cover in the time allotted. It is a great course, but not as comprehensive as the 64 hour course. We are looking for: ASL, Spanish, even Swedish and Languages Other Than Spanish/"LOTS": Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Burmese, Cambodian, Cantonese, Russian, Tigrynia, Portuguese, Persian, Pulaar, Polish, Mandarin, Navajo, Marshallese, Rohynga, Korean, Chuuka, Urdu, Somali, Telugu, Hindi, Moroccan, Farsi, Tagalog, Oromo, Karen, Karenini, Punjabi, Vietnamese and several other Asian, African and European languages. The 40 hour course does not make interpreters eligible to serve behavioral health or mental health facilities unless they take an additional course such as Mental Health First Aid or have some other Educational Degree or approved credential that would permit this. The 64 hour course is a better choice for a newcomer or the serious professional who wants to be eventually get national certification and/or wants to be sure to embrace all the nuances, challenges and aspects of medical and behavioral health interpreting. The latter are difficult to separate in real life. If you do not need a certificate and already have one or a degree of 2 years or more: please apply! We look forward to hearing from you! 1/One World Translation
