Oswego Senior Center Announces Concert, Yoga Events

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Senior Center has an upcoming lineup of events planned, staff announced Wednesday, including an outdoor concert and a weekly gentle yoga program. The Oswego Senior Center Senior Singers are putting on a concert at Austin Park, 1345 S. Broadway Road in Montgomery Sept. 3. Reservations for the event aren't necessary, and guests can bring lawn chairs for the 10 a.m. concert. Heritage Woods of Yorkville will be providing refreshments and raffles at the concert where coordinators say guests will likely be humming along to many of their favorite songs. Questions about the event can be directed to the senior center at 630-554-5602. The Oswego Senior Center also offers weekly gentle yoga, taking place from 11:30 a.m. 12:15 p.m. Fridays at the Allied First Bank community gym room, 3201 Orchard Road in Oswego. In this class, participants use a chair to exercise, and instructor Neeta Mohanty helps modify positions for comfort and concerns, according to a news release. Masks are required in the bank's lobby, and a $3 donation for yoga is requested. Coordinators noted that guests should allow room at the front entrance of the building for bank patrons. Yoga-goers can enter the bank through the main entrance and go to the gym. To join the group that works out, those interested can call 630-554-5602.
