Description
CONCORD, NH — This week's US Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force "Fugitive of the Week" is in custody.
R'Jaye Maurice Ladd, 21, was wanted for failure to appear in Belknap County Superior Court on a charge of felonious sexual assault. The victim was a child under the age of 16 but over the age of 13, according to officials.
Ladd was featured on Wednesday and known to be living in the Lakes Region, either Belmont or Laconia, Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, said. After the fugitive information was posted, "a large number of tips were received pointing to possible locations and associates of Ladd," he said.
Ladd then contacted the task force and said he would surrender to Belknap County Sheriff's Office on Thursday. White said Ladd arrived at the sheriff's office this morning and surrendered without incident.
Ladd is being held without bail pending a court appearance on Thursday.
