Mitigation Technicians play an important role within our company as they are responsible for restoring buildings that have suffered property damage. They are knowledgeable in their field, highly skilled, organized, and detail-oriented. Mitigation technicians follow specific protocols while performing their mitigation and mold remediation duties to ensure the building’s occupants' health and safety. Our restoration team members do not just perform daily activities, we help people get back home and back in business. You can eventually work your way up the ladder to become a Lead Technician or a Project Manager. Responsibilities include: -Drive a company vehicle to the job site in Chicago and the South & West Suburbs -Load and unload equipment and supplies from the vehicle to the worksite -Clear the work site by moving or covering furniture -Pack and remove personal property from the site and unload it at the warehouse -Follow mitigation protocols/scope of work provided by project managers -Notify lead technicians if hidden damage is discovered -Perform demolition including, not limited to, removing damaged or wet building materials that have been affected by fire, water, smoke, or mold -Set up drying equipment -Take photos and meticulously document your job site in our cloud-based system -Take moisture readings to ensure that building materials are properly drying to drying standards -Follow all Environmental Protection Agency and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations for disposal of wastewater and chemicals -Perform all work to meet or exceed applicable federal, state, and local regulations -Read and comprehend all applicable SDS sheets for chemicals that require special handling and use of Personal Protective Equipment -Comply with all verbal and written safety practices including the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment -Adhere to IICRC standards when performing mitigation -Clean and maintain equipment -Maintain a clean warehouse and clean work vehicle -Provide exceptional customer service -Maintain a professional appearance -Show up on time, in a uniform, and ready to work Qualifications for this position: -High School diploma or equivalent -Knowledge of how buildings are constructed -IICRC certifications and not required but are a plus -Show that you comprehend the science of drying as mitigation protocols as they are explained to you -Show that you comprehend remediation protocols as they are explained to you -Be willing to obtain certifications in order to advance -Ability to use an iPad, use our app on a smartphone and send/receive emails -Aptitude for learning new technology and software -A valid driver's license is required -Must pass a screening of your background -Strong written and verbal skills -A strong attention to detail -Able to problem solve and follow and follow detailed instructions -Strong math skills including percentages, ratios, computations, and fractions -This position requires the physical stamina/ability to perform all aspects of this job (be on your feet for an extended period of time, lifting up to 50+ pounds, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.) * Pay is determined by the applicant's experience. * Health benefits * IICRC training
