Description
ALAMEDA, CA — A peaceful Tuesday afternoon was shredded by the sound of gunfire in Alameda.
Police report that two groups of people fired at one another multiple times in a car-to-car gunfight in the 100 block of Brush Street.
It happened at about 2:27 p.m.
The cars were gone by the time officers got to the scene of the shooting.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been announced.
Residents expressed fear on the police department's Facebook page.
Michelle Salinardi wrote, "Many of the things I would feel safe doing 4 or 5 years ago in Alameda, I would definitely think twice about or not do. Simply going for a walk in the dark or sitting on the beach after dark no longer feel like safe options anymore. Very sad!"
From Lian Darrow, "I live in the neighborhood, heard the shots. It was scary. I am not normally scared in my neighborhood."
The investigation continues.
