The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said Thursday that Davares Raysun Grayson was apprehended by US Marshals in Atlanta. Tuscaloosa Police have been on the lookout for Grayson since May 30 for the murder of Lorenzo Graham.
As Patch previously reported, the capital murder enhancement for Grayson is a result of the victim being killed in the presence of a related child under the age of 14, with the man's 1-year-old son present during his murder.
VCU Commander Captain Jack Kennedy said Grayson will remain in custody in Georgia until the extradition process is complete and he can be returned to Tuscaloosa County.
"The Violent Crimes Unit would like to thank US Marshals Task Force, both in Tuscaloosa, Atlanta, and other surrounding areas for their assistance in locating Grayson," Kennedy said. "The apprehension and arrest of Grayson has remained a constant priority for all law enforcement agencies in Tuscaloosa County, both local and federal.
