Hearthstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable, safe, and compassionate Maintenance Assistant/Driver!
The Maintenance Assistant's primary responsibility is to assist the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring the building(s), equipment and utilities are maintained in good working order and facility grounds are properly maintained in accordance with facility policies.
-Assist Maintenance Director with basic building repairs and other maintenance tasks.
-Make rounds, assess, and make minor repairs. Assist Maintenance Supervisor with large repairs.
-Ensure work schedules are followed and coordinate services with other departments. Advise supervisor of supply and/or repair needs.
-Assist with emergency evacuation of participants if inclement weather (e.g. a hurricane) is threatened or if there is a power failure or other reason that the Center must close during program hours.
-Some on-call driving needed.
-Prior maintenance experience
-Prior experience in transportation of the elderly and or physically/mentally challenged persons preferred.
-Must hold a currently valid driver's license as required by the State and a “no point” driving record verified by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
-Ability to bend down, and lift up to 50 lbs.
