Established band, undergoing a few changes. We have bass, drums, keyboard, sax and vocalist. We need a really strong guitarist who can play rhythm and lead. We play a mix of classic funk (meters, funkadelic), neo funk (check Stanky by the band Ripe), neo soul. Anything with a good groove, we want to keep the audience engaged and moving all night. We are not a party band or a wedding band. We are looking to curate a list of well known and not at all well known songs that really groove. We have a super strong vocalist and a tight rhythm section. Looking for a semi-pro level guitarist. Chops are great but we are looking for someone with a really good, innate, musical feel. Commitment is important. We practice 2-4x a month in Mount Pleasant. At some point we may have 40 -50 songs down and be playing often enough where we can back off the practice schedule. We normally practice around 7PM on a Tue, Wed., Thur. Preparation is important. We expect people to do their homework, learn the song on their own, come to practice prepared. Practice is not the time to learn the song structure and chords. It's the time for us to work together to finalize the groove and make changes, if required, to the arrangement. We range in age from 30's to 40's. We are doing this to play local gigs. Our goal is to be one of the better bands in town and play the best venues in town. We are NOT looking to tour. We are NOT a weekend warrior hobby band. We have a few members that are former professional musicians and a few members who are very experienced playing in local bands. Any age, race, gender welcome if you have the musical ability and can commit.
