Become a Volunteer Firefighter with Glenside Fire Company! Whether you’re looking to volunteer in the community, help others, or make new friends, there’s a place for everyone in Glenside Fire Company! Our volunteer firefighting force consists of high school students, college students, tradespeople, office workers, stay-at-home parents, and even retirees. We accept new members starting at age 16 and no experience is necessary! We are a 100% volunteer organization consisting of around 45 active firefighters and we need you to help us achieve our mission. Our mission is to help others in their greatest time of need. Whether that’s extinguishing a fire at their house, rescuing them from a vehicle accident, or any other of a number of different emergencies, we’ll be there to help. If you live, work, or attend school in the Glenside, Wyncote, Laverock, or Arcadia University area, we want to hear from you! If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to become a volunteer firefighter, contact us to get the membership process started! You can choose how much time you would like to commit to volunteer firefighting, so don’t worry if you think you’re too busy to join. Every new member finds a way to contribute to our mission and we are appreciative of every member’s effort, no matter how big or small.
