Description

The City of Southport is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Public Services Technician. This individual will assist in all areas of operations and maintenance of water and sewer system and will also be able to assist with storm water and streets, as needed. Ideal candidates would have some experience and knowledge of water and sewer systems, experience in operating various equipment including a backhoe, and the ability to enter confined spaces. Most importantly, candidates would have the desire and ability to learn with on-the-job training and be reliable. Potential candidates must be able to obtain Water and Sewer Certification within twelve (12) months of employment and be available for rotating on-call coverage on nights and weekends. Minimum Requirements: Valid NC Driver’s License High School Diploma/GED Ability to work some holidays Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, 401K, and retirement plan.
