Position Overview: Jewish National Fund-USA is hiring a Facility and Building Clerk to work out of our JNF Headquarters in Manhattan. This is a support position through JNF and the Union. The Facilities Clerk will be trained in many building functions. Job Duties will include: Ensure building is kept clean and maintained Obtain list of daily events/meetings to prepare work assignments for facilities. Ensure set up (including catering) and breakdown of all meeting and conference rooms Perform daily morning walk thru the building and keep the record in the log book. Consult with Building and Facilities manager to make sure all equipment runs as should be. Respond to emergency requests for facility and equipment repairs. Some shift work and shared on-call emergency response is required. Clear off snow and ice from entrances and sidewalks. Make sure property is kept safe for pedestrian traffic. Track facility work projects both unfinished and completed Assist the Building and Facilities Manager in performing major and routine maintenance repair within building including: Electrical and plumbing systems Elevator, A/C, Chiller – Heater and Boiler Systems, Pumps, Fans, Compressors Perform required weekly/ monthly tests on fire equipment Perform carpentry, painting, floor and doors repairs and remodeling of building per instructions from Supervisor Maintain appropriate inventory of the supplies (checking all floors of six story building for stock levels) Maintain, repair and store cleaning equipment Coverage of the front desk and mail sorting and deliveries Other duties as assigned by your supervisor Qualifications: 1+ years relevant experience Excellent communications skills Previous experience with maintaining appropriate inventories and staying within budgeted expenses Experience with mechanical systems including HVAC, heater/chiller units, BMS controls, sprinklers, standpipes, pumps, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, etc. is a plus Experience with elevator, A/C, Chiller – Heater and Boiler Systems, Pumps, Fans Compressors is a plus Computer skills and knowledge BMS is helpful
