It’s sustainability tour time with compost! On September 30, join the WIS community as we get a special 90-minute tour of the A1 Compost Facility in Keenesburg, CO. We will get a chance to tour the compost fields to learn about how compost is made at an industrial compost facility with tour guide and Marketing Director Clinton Sander. You will have a chance to ask all your compost questions along the way! We are also working on transportation to / from for all attendees to reduce our carbon impact from driving to the facility. Stay tuned, but note that this is not guaranteed. Space is limited, so please RSVP to reserve your spot. Attendees will be required to follow all guidelines in place to ensure safety, including: COVID protocols: Masks required for anyone that is unvaccinated WIS follows all CDC, State, & City guidelines that are in place at the time of the event. Please watch for updates.Dress Code: Long pantsSturdy closed-toe shoes, boots are best.Eye protection (sun glasses) due to blowing dust and debris if the wind is up.HatAny additional clothing the weather requires. This event is free and open to any person interested in sustainability and the environment and all are welcome to attend no matter where you are on your journey! COVID Guidelines: To safeguard our attendees and family members from the COVID-19 virus, this event will be held outdoors, weather permitting. WIS follows all CDC, State, City and venue protocols that are in place at the time of the event. We ask that all attendees follow the required guidelines for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals including wearing a mask if you are not vaccinated. We also encourage those to wear masks that feel more comfortable doing so. Regardless of your vaccination status, if you are not feeling well or have come in contact with someone with the COVID-19 virus, please do not attend this event. We appreciate your help in keeping our community and their family members safe during these unprecedented times. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be postponed or cancelled and attendees will be notified immediately. About A1 Organics A1 Organics is family-owned and operated since 1974. They provide home gardens, commercial landscapers, agriculturalists, municipalities, and institutions with organic soils, multi-purpose composts, mulches, and organics recycling services.
