Want to take part in the St. Joseph pilgrimage? The cost for the West pilgrimage is $45 per person. Lunch and tips are included. Five of the nine parishes in the Diocese of Wichita named after St. Joseph will be visited for the West trip, on Tuesday, October 12. The trip will begin with 8 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Church, 132 S. Millwood, in Wichita. Pilgrims will then board a Village Travel motorcoach to visit churches in Conway Springs, Andale, Ost, and to complete the circuit a trip to McPherson. Lunch will be catered by Carriage Crossing in the parish hall in Andale. The bus is scheduled to be back in Wichita by 4 p.m. A pilgrimage is not an ordinary journey. It’s a kind of “holy traveling” undertaken with resolve for a particular spiritual purpose to obtain a special favor and to do penance for one’s sins. When you travel to parishes named for St. Joseph and leave your prayer intentions at his altars, it shows him special honor that may result in blessings and graces through his intercession.
