Learn the ins and outs of painting furniture with Nichole Jones! Learn the basics of painting furniture in this 2 hour class with Nichole Jones of Roosting Place Art! This class is for beginners! Students will learn how to prepare their work area, what to wear, how to prep furniture using wood putty and sand paper, learn about different primers and paint types, and how to seal their project with a protective clear coat. The instructor will also demonstrate some intermediate techniques like distressing and gilding. All of these steps will be practiced using sample boards that the student can take home. Materials are included in the ticket price, and include things like a sample board, brushes, sandpaper, etc. Attendees should wear clothes for painting and comfortable shoes. Nichole Jones is the owner of Roosting Place Art, a custom painting business in Newmarket NH. She is also the chair person for the town’s Arts & Tourism Commission. Nichole has experience in teaching furniture painting when she held classes at her storefront in uptown Exeter, NH. Kids and families welcome, open to ages 12+ (must be accompanied by parent/guardian) Instructor: Nichole Jones Attendees who are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to wear a mask and social distance.
