HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A deputy helped deliver a baby early Tuesday morning in a car parked outside a 7-Eleven in Dover, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. The father called 9-1-1 from the parking lot just before 5:30 a.m., and told the dispatchers his wife was in labor. He did not think they would make it to the hospital, deputies said. Officers arrived to the location, and Deputy Jordan Ream assisted the couple with the delivery of a boy. The mom and baby were taken to the hospital afterward. They are both doing great, the medical staff said. "Without hesitation, Deputy Ream jumped into action to assist this mother in labor." Deputy Ream repeatedly reassured the new mom that she was in good hands. Immediately, his training kicked in and he was able to deliver the healthy baby while keeping mom safe too. "I wish Mom, Dad, and their new baby boy all the happiness. Congratulations!" Video of Delivery Here:
