Press release from the Hamilton School District: August 18, 2021 The Hamilton School Board approved the hiring of Susan Schramka as the new associate principal for Silver Spring Intermediate School. She replaces Katie Ritchie who became principal at Maple Avenue Elementary School. Schramka is a familiar face in the Hamilton School District. She joined the district in 2017 as a Woodside Elementary School mathematics specialist. In that role she oversaw mathematics interventions, taught accelerated math, provided enrichment groups, led professional development for staff and provided feedback to teachers on best instructional practices. Schramka earned her bachelor's degree in communications from St. Norbert College in 2003, a bachelor's and master's degree in elementary education from Cardinal Stritch University in 2006 and 2008, and a master's degree in administrative leadership from Sierra Nevada College in 2016. Before joining the Woodside faculty, she was an elementary school teacher and then an instructional coach for 11 years in Nevada. "Ms. Schramka is an accomplished educator who is dedicated to providing students with rigorous, challenging instruction in an environment where they feel cared for and respected," said Hamilton Superintendent Paul Mielke, Ph.D. "She will serve Silver Spring Intermediate School well."
