STAMFORD, CT — An investigation is underway into the fatal stabbing of a 43-year-old man in Stamford, police said Wednesday morning. The stabbing occurred on the east side of the city around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Capt. Richard Conklin said, although an exact location is unclear at the moment. Conklin said investigators are looking at two scenes — one on Hamilton Avenue, and the other in the area of Culloden Road. Conklin said the victim was in his vehicle on Hamilton Avenue and pulled over to people on the sidewalk and requested help shortly after 1 a.m.. The man was then transported to Stamford Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his wounds. "We're actively investigating," Conklin said. "It appears to be a homicide stabbing. We have a lot of moving pieces we're looking into now." Conklin said investigators are trying to determine where the victim lived. "We can't say Stamford at this point," he said. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Stamford Police Department Detective Bureau at 203-977-4417.
