Phones rang out across New York City with an alert asking city dwellers to watch out for 7-year-old Jaila Puello.
Puello was taken by Jean Puello, 40, about 2:15 a.m. during a child abduction on Grand Avenue in Queens, authorities said.
"The child was taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious harm and/or death," the alert stated in all-caps.

Jaila Puello is described as a Hispanic girl with black hair and brown eyes, about 4 feet 1 inches tall and weighing 60 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, black shorts and gray shoes.
Jean Puello has black hair and brown eyes, stand about 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing boxer shorts.
He sped off with Jaila along Grand Avenue in a green four-door BMW 530i with a New York license plate bearing the number KFM2998.
