This is an introductory course that explores leadership components and identifies the emotional intelligence that Goleman describes in What makes a leader? and takes a closer look at the difference between management and leadership in What Leaders Really Do, by John P. Kotter. We will also discuss topics from Peter Drucker, Rob Goffee, and Gareth Jones about Managing Oneself and Managing Authenticity and Why Anyone Should Be Led by You. We will also examine the effects of good leadership as discussed in Clayton M. Christensen’s How Will You Measure Your Life? and the “Law of Legacy” according to John C. Maxwell.
