Description
NEW HAVEN, CT — Working with Griffin Health and the state Department of Public Health, Homewatch CareGivers of New Haven is holding two free walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics, one slated for Friday and the second on Sept. 10.
Friday's clinic will be held at the home health care agency's offices at 151 East St., Suite 101 in New Haven from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
First doses of Pfizer and J&J vaccines will be administered with the second dose administered at the Sept. 10 clinic, at the same location and same time. No appointment is needed and though health insurance cards and photo IDs are requested, they are not required: "No one will be turned away for lack of either, and there is no charge for the vaccine," the agency said.
All participants will get a free $20 Stop and Shop gift card.
The state's COVID-19 "highly visible yellow vans, provided by the DPH and run by Griffin Health" will be parked outside the East St. location. The van can administer 100 to 125 shots per day in a six-hour window, according to a news release from Homewatch, and are "part of the State of Connecticut's effort to vaccinate as many residents as possible."
