LONG ISLAND, NY — Hamptonites are set to get their own "get out of jail free" card: A brand-new MONOPOLY Hamptons game is set to debut next summer — and the public has the chance to weigh in on what famous locales they'd like to see featured on the board. Maybe it's the Montauk Lighthouse or an iconic windmill, a favorite restaurant or beloved theater — the voting opened Wednesday and will run through September 8. Top Trumps USA, the American division of Winning Moves International announced the new game, under license from Hasbro.MONOPOLY Hamptons will replace the iconic board game's famous Atlantic City squares —from Boardwalk to Park Place — with representations of much-loved Hamptons landmarks, natural destinations, and longtime favorites. The Hamptons board will also include a customized Community Chest and Chance playing cards, "ensuring each detail of the game pays homage to the region," a release said. Locals and visitors alike can share which locations they would like to see featured on the board by emailing the official MONOPOLY Hamptons team at [email protected]. All submissions will be reviewed, tallied, and considered throughout the board curation process until September 8. "The Hamptons provide New York with such rich history, picture-perfect shorelines, and countless beloved cultural sites," said Dennis Gavaghen, representative from Top Trumps USA, said. "Since we have just 22 squares for our game, it's important that we create an accurate portrayal of what this Long Island community loves about their region. That's why we're excited for folks to submit their recommendations; we want to know what your favorite place is in the Hamptons."
