Walk a Mile in Her Shoes on Sept. 21 -- men and boys in a powerful display for the safety of women and girls, an end to gender violence The 10th annual Memphis Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is Tuesday Sept. 21, stepping off at 5:30 pm at the Ramesses II statue on Central at the University of Memphis. Join more than 200 others for a masked, safely-distanced demonstration to stop rape, domestic violence, sexual harassment and stalking. You can pre-register on Eventbrite or register at the Walk. Registration tables will be spread through the plaza behind the Ramesses statue and into the adjacent grounds. So come in time to borrow from our supply of women's shoes - or bring your own - and choose a sign that expresses your concern for women and girls. Walk a Mile masks will be available to the first 200 registrants. The route will flow west along Central, turn north on Highland, move east on Poplar to return to Central via DeLoach. Registration is $10; UM students are free with ID.
