Description
East Bay Band with about 3 shows per month at this point, mostly in the north bay, seeks bass player for the long haul. Having just lost our current bass player, we are seeking a bassist with a can-do pro attitude. As anyone who plays classic and 90's country knows, the bassist can make or break the song. These are "not" 1-4-5 arrangements but encompass, 2/4. 3/4 waltzes and straight-up 4 on the floor rock.
The bassist should be a confident player and quick study. We don't add a lot of new cover material so it will be mainly learning what covers we already do, then periodically a new song may be added as the guitar player/vocalist or drummer/ vocalist desires.
If you can add a vocal to this trio setting so much the better, but this is not a requirement as the guitar player and drummer cover most all vocals. Backing vocals are a plus but not required.
Please send an audio or video link with "Country Bassist Sought" in the title of email. This is kind of important as it shows how well one follows instructions. Once we've had a chance to listen to your bass work, you will receive a 4-5 song list for an audition, and we can then move to setting a date for a play-through audition.
Okay so that is the nuts and bolts of it.
About the music...Think George Strait meets Brooks and Dunn, meets the Mavericks, meets Alan Jackson, meets Willie. The drummer listens to mostly jazz and classical so it is not like you have to be drenched in country to get this gig. Says the drummer, "I care about every beat."Just be a pro and give 100% when you are behind your ax. No chemical users or power drinkers if you please.
Thanks So Much!
