So many people have asked me about this in the last several months. If any of these are true for you, consider Strength Training! Your body is getting mushier than it used to be (i.e. muscles are disappearing) Your legs get tired when you climb stairs You find that your upper body is weak or weaker than it used to be Getting up off a low couch or off the floor can be challenging You want to age as gracefully as possible and live a long independent life You just know you want to be stronger! If you know this is for you, go directly to the bottom for the specifics. We will be strengthening upper body, arms, shoulders, back, chest, lower body, legs, hips, butt, low back, and core. ALL RESULTING IN: being stronger, feeling more solid in your body, having better balance (when the legs are stronger) being able to do things that are difficult now maybe even returning to activities you had to give up protection for your joints so they won't hurt My own journey getting stronger started when I was 30 and needed to be stronger for a job. I have been lifting weights ever since and have been a Certified Personal Trainer for almost 20 years now, including specialty certifications for Seniors, Core, Stability Ball, Functional Movement, in addition of course to Yoga and Pilates and others. Ready to join me now? We will be using a combination of stretchy bands or weights, and body weight. As always, I will be giving options so you aren’t tied in to any one particular way of doing something. And, I will have modifications for most moves. Requirements: MUST BE ABLE TO GET ON AND OFF THE FLOOR - doesn’t have to be graceful :). This is not a “Chair” Strengthening class No experience necessary Class Specifics: Time: Mondays, from 1:00-2:00 Pacific Time OR Thursdays, from 5:00-6:00 pm Pacific Time Online from the comfort of your own space on Zoom Dates: Monday August 9 thru Monday December 6 OR Thursday August 19 thru Thursday December 16 Comes with video of each class so you can practice during the week Cost: $257 for 4 months, not including equipment. A set of stretchy bands is about $13. I will tell you exactly what to get $100 deposit required to hold your space Balance due before you come to class 15 people maximum for individual attention Registration: First come, first served.
