PRINCETON, NJ — For the first time ever, a mental health clinic in Princeton will be hosting a camp for LGBTQI+ youth. Camp Pride NJ 2021 is a three-day community building and empowerment camp for LGBTQI+ and questioning youth. The camp will be held Aug. 26-28, Thursday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Princeton Center for MindBody Healing. Young people from in and around New Jersey will come together to meet other LGBTQI+ people their age and to learn from mental health clinicians. The camp will help youth learn skills, deal with anxiety and build community. The camp will host discussion-based workshops, art and skill-based workshops, and guest speakers. All attendees will need to be fully vaccinated before the start of camp. Camp Prince NJ 2020 is a pilot program by the health clinic in its inaugural year. The clinic says it plans to make the camp an annual program and expand it in the coming years. The camp is open to youth ages 12 to 18. Tuition, scholarship, and sponsorship are also available.
