CONCORD, NH — With the new Tyler Shaw bill signed into law and concern by public safety officials in New Hampshire about intoxicated driving, cops and troopers will be out in force to find impaired drivers. State and local law enforcement said the initiative, "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," will run from today through Sept. 6, and motorists around New Hampshire can expect to see increased police presence. Sixty-three local police agencies will be working with the department on the effort. "Last year, 39 peopled died in alcohol-related crashes on New Hampshire roads," Department of Safety Commissioner Robert Quinn said. "It is impossible to quantify the pain that these families went through and it is even more heartbreaking knowing that it was entirely preventable." Department of Safety Commissioner Quinn speaks at the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over kick-off press conference while Gov. Chris Sununu and local law enforcement look on.
