Clean Cabling  Low Voltage Technician  Job Description _____________________________________________________________ JOB TITLE: Low Voltage Technician FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To perform skilled maintenance low voltage work in the installation, maintenance and repair of low voltage systems and equipment; working with the client functionality; and to perform a variety of duties relative to assigned area of responsibility. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED: Receives supervision from the Owner. • TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for lifting, climbing, crawling; work or inspect in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time; walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; work on slippery or uneven surfaces, operating motorized equipment or vehicles, bending, stooping, kneeling; basic tools, drills, screw gun, cutters, keyhole saws, etc.; working at heights or using extension ladders or manlifts; near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITONS: Shop and field, indoor and outdoor environment; subject to traveling from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, chemicals, inclement weather conditions; work or inspect in confined spaces; exposure to electrical energy, high voltage. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)  Installing, terminating, and testing cat6, audio cabling, coax, and fiber-optic  Installing complete camera systems  Mounting equipment on roofs and walls  Troubleshooting network connectivity  Read floorplans to determine how to best install cabling and equipment  Training users on functionality QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; must have reliable transportation and ability to cover service areas from Redding to Sacramento. Mileage will be paid. Clean CA driver’s license and evidence of insurability • Background Check required KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:  How to use basic tools, drills, screw gun, cutters, keyhole saws, etc.  Not afraid of heights or using extension ladders or manlifts.  Knowledge of basic electrical safety procedures  Strong communication skills  Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.  Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. WOREK SCUEDULE • Monday through Friday 8am – 4:30pm (Minimum of 32 hours per week) • At times may require flexibility and working after hours This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
