Description

STILLWATER, MN — The Aug. 26 Stillwater Area Public Schools board meeting will determine health and safety protocols, including masking, for the upcoming academic year. A mask requirement is being considered for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Masks will be "strongly recommended" for everyone else, including staff and high school students, according to the district. The Minnesota Department of Education recommends that all students, teachers, staff, and visitors in school buildings wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status. However, the department is not mandating that schools require masks for this upcoming school year. That means it's up to each individual school district to decide on whether to implement a mask mandate or not.
