TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Public Health has released its recent list of enforcement actions for different restaurants and businesses, including several in the Tuscaloosa area. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts ADPH says an establishment is required to immediately cease operations in the event of any of the following: Extended interruption of electrical or water serviceComplete lack of refrigerationComplete lack of hot waterSewage backupMisuse of poisonous or toxic materialsOnset of an apparent food-borne illness outbreakOther circumstance that may endanger public health, including an inspection score of less than 60. The state health department points out that operations are not resumed until an inspection indicates conditions constituting an imminent health risk and a substantial hazard no longer exist. What's more, ADPH stressed that, in most instances, conditions are corrected and the establishment can reopen within a few hours of receiving the score.
