Help Host Exchange Students

Description

International Experience (iE) has been providing high school students from around world with local host families since 2002. Designated by the U.S. Department of State and CSIET, iE helps youth and families connect, relate and explore the differences that define us and the similarities that unite us. The life-long friendship between an exchange student and their host family is priceless! Our students participate in rigorous application process which includes a comprehensive application, personal interview, English proficiency exam, teacher recommendations and a medical exam. Students come with their own spending money and insurance. Volunteer host families welcome an exchange student into their family for one or two semesters by providing a safe, clean and supportive home, meals and reasonable transportation so the exchange student can participate in local school or community activities - they become part of your family! As part of our commitment to youth, and as a thank you to your congregation for helping iE spread the word about this fun opportunity, we will donate $1,000 to your church youth group for each host family your church recruits that hosts one of our students for this fall. To help you, iE can provide you sample bulletin, announcement, social media posts or email text. We also have brochures, posters and flyers for distribution. Let us know what works best for you! Questions? Contact me, Meghan Fahey LC, or visit iE's website at iE-usa.org.
