FACILITY SUPPORT SUPERVISOR EAST LIBERTY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PURPOSE: To support the church’s ministry and mission by ensuring that the rooms, offices, buildings and grounds of ELPC are safe, clean, and prepared for church members and visitors alike. ACCOUNTABLE TO: The Personnel Committee of the Session of ELPC and Head of Staff through the Facility Administrator (FA) (primary supervisor) and Director of Church Operations (DCO) (secondary supervisor). RESPONSIBILITIES: According to the schedule, procedures, and priorities established by the Facility Administrator: (in keeping with the oversight of the Director of Church Operations and goals set forth by the Session), The Facility Support Supervisor Primary Duties – 70%: • Will supervise the facility staff in the absence of the Facility Administrator. • Completing special projects assigned by immediate supervisor in a timely manner. • Will assist with training and onboarding of new hires in the Custodial and Hospitality department. • See that all personnel are present and at their assigned areas when they are scheduled to work. • Monitor inventory of supplies in the facilities department and update the FA of items needed each month. • They will be familiar with the premises and with procedures related to emergency situations, including fire, medical crises, or threats to property or individuals. They will respond to emergencies, including calling 911 or emergency services as needed. • Will receive training on the church computer system and may be asked to assist with simple clerical or administrative support tasks, ranging from helping assemble worship bulletins and special mailings or inputting data on computer spreadsheets/ACS on demand client). • They will be in communication with other church staff through the phone system, emails, and walkie-talkie equipment. • In making rounds of the building, they will follow the protocols established by the FA and DCO related to safety, energy efficiency, and security for the premises. • Delegating custodial and hospitality tasks to team members as needed. Custodial and Hospitality duties 30%: • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the building. • Maintaining day to day operations of facilities • Clean designated areas as needed. (Cleaning offices, bathroom, kitchens, and other areas in the building. • Cover Hospitality Shifts as needed. (Covering the front desk, answering phone calls, and directing guests and members) RELATIONSHIPS: The Facility Support Supervisor will report directly to the Facility Administrator, secondarily to the Director of Church Operations, and serve as a resource for the program and administrative staff of ELPC. They are expected to be collegial, flexible, self-motivated, and respectful of one another and those using our church building. EVALUATION: Regular reviews of the position description, work objectives and performance will be conducted by the primary supervisor, with annual reviews conducted by the primary and secondary supervisors. The Personnel Committee will review the adequacy of compensation annually and be available as a resource and support. QUALIFICATIONS: High school or equivalent with at least one year experience or related employment. Must also submit and clear a “Request for Criminal Record Check” FBI Clearances and “Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.” Must be able to physically do the job, standing, bending, walking and lifting 50 pounds or more. Have a strong faith and character, personal and professional integrity and sincere commitment to building significant relationships with the church and community at large. COMPENSATION: This full-time exempt position will be compensated based on experience with a salary range between $30,000 and $40,000 annually. The compensation package includes leave (vacation, personal and sick), healthcare, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits for the employee.
