Summary Primary responsibility is for Accounts Payable. Responsible for assigned accounting functions including account recording and proper timing. Responsible for ordering supplies of controlled document forms. Performs back-up for Accounts Receivable and the Office Assistant. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Input fundraiser check requests and sales order invoices into Sage 500 and the ASG-Cypress document management system. Enter cash receipts into Sage 500 as coded by the Staff Accountant. Check weekly Reverse Vending Fee Schedule to the statements to ensure completeness. Scan and index chain checks into the ASG-Cypress document management system. Assemble backup with checks for CFO review. Put checks in envelopes for mailing and disburse checks internally that are not mailed. Compile general ledger detail for fixed asset work in process weekly. Pull each purchase order, Invoice, and check with pertinent information highlighted. Data entry for salvage for aluminum, PET and glass buyer shipments. Provide additional level of review for salvage input. Check salvage drops for input accuracy and confirm all have been entered for end of month salvage. Prepare assigned standard journal entries with appropriate backup as well as journal entries as requested. Assist with bank reconciliations including noting cleared checks for the month. Count petty cash and input disbursements and receipts with coding for Senior Accountant review. File digital and physical copies of accounting documents. Operates postage machine to assist employees as needed as back-up for Office Assistant. Other job duties as assigned Education/Experience General accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable knowledge and experience. Associate degree in accounting or business, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities Ability to work well in a team environment Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Exceptional attention to detail and accurate data entry skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
