Description

Food For Thought Catering Company is Seeking additional event staff for a high end luxury catered tented event on Saturday August 21st, 2021 from 3:00PM-Midnight Must have restaurant, serving and or catering experience. Must have professional appearance and mannerisms. Dress code is All Black. This is a high end client, so I want to make sure we are all crisp and presentable. You don't have to wear anything super formal, but no tears/worn-out clothes. No logos, nothing revealing, nothing sleeveless. I'd recommend comfortable (black) shoes. As such, it's a long night. We'll arrive at 3:00PM. Ceremony is at 4PM, Cocktail Hour is at 5:30PM, Dinner is ~7PM, Cake Cutting is ~9PM, Late Night Snacks are 10:30PM. The last guest shuttle departs @ Midnight. Please be ready for a longer shift! We're working on a golf course--so limited utilities. I'll bring a case of H2O, but I recommend that you bring anything that will help you stay hydrated & awake. We'll have a staff meal after we've served & cleared dinner, but bring any snacks if you think you'll need something! We're up on a mountain at night, so please also bring a sweater/coat. If anyone has their own headlamp/flashlight, that would be helpful as well! I have a couple, but we might need a few extra. FFT Responsibilities: We'll be setting up the dining room, setting up our kitchen and clearing areas, passing hors d'oeuvres, serving a plated dinner, cutting cake, serving late night snacks buffet style, and then lots of clearing. The bar staff is planning on handling a lot of the bar glassware, but we'll definitely help and then we'll clear everything from the dining tables after dinner. *Once we're up there I will go over all the glassware and appropriate boxes so we repack correctly* *There is a LOT of glassware. Thousands of glasses. Every time we break a glass (or plate) the client pays for it. *IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE CARRYING A HEAVY OR FULL TRAY, PLEASE DON'T BE A HERO* We have plenty of time to clear, so let's all be extra cautious/careful to prevent any breakage. We do have to "wash" the plates and flatware. We're planning on bringing cambros of hot water to essentially dip and wipe all dirties. They are great people, definitely looking to have a good time (I mean the glassware alone). Let's please maintain that positive reputation, friendly without sacrificing professionalism. No swearing, no drinking (alcohol), no eating in front of guests, all the usual rules.
