Maintenance Worker II – Streets Streets & Traffic Engineering Division Public Works Department Application deadline: Friday, September 3, 2021 Visit www.icgov.org/jobs to apply online One permanent full time position available Full salary range: $48,921.60 – $63,356.80 Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm Job summary: Under general direction, operates a variety of light and heavy equipment used in the maintenance of City streets. Performs street construction and maintenance tasks. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience in street construction and maintenance required. Forklift certification required. Must live within 17 miles of the corporate limits of Iowa City, Iowa within one year of appointment to the position. Valid Iowa Class B commercial driver's license with satisfactory driving record required. Iowa Class A commercial driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements required within 6 months of hire. This position is subject to federal drug testing requirements including screening through the FMCSA Clearinghouse. A pre-employment drug screen is required. Must be 18 years of ager per Iowa Code 92.8. Must pass criminal background check. Preferred qualifications: Two years of experience in street construction and maintenance preferred.
