Also taking experienced tree climber applications and posted wage would be based on experience. Though it's in the name we actually dropped out doing yard care many years ago. The applicant should be ready to learn about trees, shrubs, and hedges. Tree Preservation through strategic trimming that involve ropes and a climber. Pruning with ladders and pole pruners, and removals right next to a house. The work will involve chipping branches, 50-75 pounds of heavy lifting, clean-up, rigging ropes and chainsaw work. Also in tandem will be training for climbing, technical tree trimming, removals, and other rigging. 35-40 hours per week Monday-Friday 7:30am- 3:30pm Having a vehicle is a plus but we start in NE Portland near MLK and Killingsworth and work the porland metro area. No more yard care these days. This is a medium duty place and we don't put climbers in a tree for 8 hours. The crew is small and we typically put in 6.5 hours in the field and then it's paid travel back to the shop. Currently we have one other climber so the opportunity to climb a lot is very real. The estimator works with the crews and was a climber, the owner was a climber, and the day to day manager climbs currently. One other person is slowly training for it getting in the tree.
