Description
Hello. I'm a 42 year old quadriplegic male who's looking to assemble a team of three people who are reliable, dependable, honest, and empathetic to work for me part-time in my home located in third ward as personal care attendants. It's a split shift so I need one person to do the mornings and one person for the evenings and one of the three will be an on-call backup for emergencies, sick leave, Etc
The hours are: Saturday through Tuesday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This position is very easy and relaxed and once you have the routine down it's smooth sailing. Tasks include: bathing in bed/shower, dressing/undressing, transferring from bed to chair in the morning and vice-versa in the evening using a mechanical Hoyer lift, brushing teeth, washing face, shaving, cutting finger and toenails, meal preparation, laundry, assistance with meds, emptying and washing out folly bag, light housekeeping, changing linens, repositioning in bed to prevent pressure sores. Other small items.
No experience necessary but experience is a plus. This job is great for someone who is just starting out in the medical field and who is in need of experience. The most important thing is reliability. Must have reliable transportation (so you can show up reliably) and pass a background check. Must be legally able to work in the US and speak fair English. Must not live more than 20 minutes from Third Ward. Showing up on time will probably be the hardest part of this.
Please respond with your name, phone number, good time to reach you and any experience you may have and use PCA in the subject line. This is a pretty easy side income that doesn't chew up a big part of your day.
